Welcome messages

Greet new members, say goodbye when they leave, and thank boosters, with plain text or an embed.

Set one up

  1. Pick the channel and write the message. Any embed script and variables work.
    ,welcome add #welcome Welcome {user.mention} to **{guild.name}**! You're member #{guild.count}.
  2. ,welcome view shows what's saved for a channel. To see it for real, have an alt account join. If the template has a mistake, the bot tells you when you save it.

,goodbye add and ,boosts add work the same way for leaves and boosts. Each can post in up to 5 channels; adding one to a channel that already has one replaces it.

With an embed

,welcome add #welcome {embed}$v{message: {user.mention}}$v{title: Welcome to {guild.name}!}$v{description: Read the rules and grab your roles.}$v{thumbnail: {user.display_avatar}}$v{color: #5865f2}

Put the mention in {message: …} if you want it to ping. A mention inside the embed itself doesn't notify anyone.

Messages that delete themselves

Add --self_destruct 30 to delete the message after that many seconds (6 to 60). It's handy in a busy general chat.

,welcome add #general Hey {user.mention}, welcome! --self_destruct 15

Who invited them

With invite tracking, welcome and goodbye messages can say who invited the member:

,welcome add #welcome {user.mention} joined, invited by {inviter.mention} ({inviter.invites} invites)

A DM when they join

,joindm add Welcome to {guild.name}, {user.name}! Read #rules first.
,joindm test

,joindm add sends every new member a DM, with the same variables and embed code as welcome messages. ,joindm test DMs it to you, ,joindm config shows it and ,joindm remove turns it off. It isn't sent to bots, during a raid, or to members whose DMs are closed.

Reviving a quiet channel

,chatrevive setup #general 5h anyone around? 👀

Once the channel has been quiet that long (30 minutes to 7 days), the bot posts the message. It only posts once: it waits for someone to talk before it can post again. ,chatrevive edit, ,chatrevive remove and ,chatrevive list manage them; up to 10 per server.

Good to know

All of this is also on the dashboard: your server → Messages, with a live check of your template when you save.
