Syntax
How commands read what you type: required and optional parts, durations, flags, and how members, roles and channels are matched.
Reading a command's usage
| Written as | Means |
|---|---|
<member> | Required |
[reason] | Optional; leave it out and a default is used |
,tickets reason <"claim"|"close"> | One of the listed words |
Durations
Numbers followed by a unit, written together with no spaces. Combine as many as you like: 30m, 1h30m, 2d, 1w2d. The longest is a year.
| Unit | Means |
|---|---|
s | seconds |
m | minutes |
h | hours |
d | days |
w | weeks |
,timeout @someone 10m being rude ,jail @someone 1d
Flags
Some commands take options written as --name value after everything else, in any order. Phones often turn-- into a long dash (—); that works too.
,antiraid massjoin on --threshold 8 --do ban --lock true
,filter invites #general on --do warn
,welcome add #welcome Hi {user.mention}! --self_destruct 30--do picks what happens to someone who triggers a protection. Each feature lists the actions it allows; all of them come from this set: warn, jail, kick, ban, delete, stripstaff.
Members, roles and channels
A mention, an ID or the exact name works in any command. Some commands also accept part of a name:
- Commands that punish someone or give roles or permissions (,ban, ,role, ,fakepermissions add…) only accept a mention, an ID or the exact name, so a typo can never hit the wrong person or role.
- Commands that only look something up (,userinfo, ,roleinfo…) also accept part of a name:
,userinfo melfinds melly. - IDs: turn on Developer Mode (User Settings → Advanced), then right-click → Copy ID.
Message links
Where a command asks for a message, paste its link (right-click → Copy Message Link). It has to be from this server, in a channel you can read.
Replying instead of typing
Many commands can take what they need from the message you reply to. Anything you type still comes first.
| Reply to | Works with | Example |
|---|---|---|
| A message, instead of its link | Giveaways, embeds, pagination, reactions, button and reaction roles, pin | ,giveaway reroll 2 |
| A message's text | translate, tts, uwu, freaky, reverse, define, urban, factcheck, tldr, explain, detect | ,translate fr |
| An emoji or sticker | emoji, emoji add, emoji addmany, emoji info, sticker add | ,emoji add cool |
| Someone, instead of mentioning them | avatar, userinfo, profile, balance, levels, invites, Last.fm and other look-ups | ,avatar |
,ask reads the message you reply to as well, so ,ask what does this mean? works. Commands that punish or change someone never pick them from a reply: they always need them named.
On and off
Settings that switch something on or off understand: on = 1 enable enabled on true y yes; off = 0 disable disabled false n no off.
Colours
A hex code like #5865f2 (the # is optional, and short codes like #fff work), or one of these names:
