Confessions
Members post anonymously with a Confess button. Other members can't see who sent a confession; your moderators can.
Setting it up
,confession channel #confessions
The bot posts a Confess button in that channel, and every confession it posts has one too. To put a button somewhere else, like a welcome channel, use ,confession button. The bot needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in the confession channel. All the commands need Manage Server, and the channel, the on/off switch and the ban list are also on the dashboard under Confessions.
Confessing
- Press Confess, write it (3 to 1500 characters) and send. Only you see the reply with its number.
- Confessions are numbered: Confession #1, #2 and so on.
- Each member can confess once a minute.
- The server's filters for the confession channel apply: a confession with a blocked word, an invite or a link (when those filters are on there) isn't posted.
- Mentions in a confession never ping anyone.
Moderating
| Command | Does |
|---|---|
| ,confession reveal | Shows who sent a confession, by its number |
| ,confession delete | Deletes a confession, and who sent it is forgotten |
| ,confession ban | Stops someone confessing, by a confession's number or the member |
| ,confession unban | Lets them confess again |
| ,confession bans | Everyone who is banned from confessing |
,confession reveal 12 ,confession delete 12 ,confession ban 12 ,confession unban @someone
,confession ban 12 bans whoever sent confession #12 without showing who it was. Bans stay if they leave and rejoin.Turning it off
,confession disable stops the Confess buttons working and keeps everything; ,confession enable turns them back on.
What's kept
The bot keeps who sent each confession, so moderators can reveal or ban. The text itself is only in the Discord message. Members are told in the form that moderators can see who sent it.
