Family
Members marry and adopt each other, and see their whole family as a tree. Every server has its own families.
Getting married
,marry @someone ,adopt @someone
The member you ask gets Accept and Decline buttons. They have 10 minutes to answer, and only they can accept (you can cancel with Decline). The buttons keep working through bot restarts.
Seeing your family
- ,family (also
,marriage) lists your spouse, parent, siblings and children. - ,familytree (also
,tree) draws a picture: two generations up and down, with spouses, up to 40 people. Members who left the server stay in it, greyed out.
Rules
- One spouse at a time, unless the server allows more (up to 5).
- Each member has one parent; a parent can adopt up to 10 children (the server can allow up to 20).
- No marrying close family (parents, children, grandparents, siblings), and no adopting your spouse or your own parent or grandparent.
- Bots can't join a family.
Leaving
| Command | Does |
|---|---|
| ,divorce | Ends your marriage (say which spouse if you have more than one) |
| ,disown | You're no longer that member's parent |
| ,runaway | Leave your parent |
Each one asks you to confirm first.
For admins
All of these need Manage Server, and the on/off switch and limits are also on the dashboard under Family.
,family settings ,family toggle ,family spouses 2 ,family children 15 ,family forcedivorce @someone ,family reset @someone
,family reset without a member clears every family in the server (it asks first). Turning family off keeps every family, ready for when you turn it back on.
