AI
Ask questions, summarise long messages, get things explained simply, and check whether text was written by AI.
The commands
| Command | Does | Wait between uses |
|---|---|---|
| ,ask | Answers a question. It remembers your last few messages with it | 25 seconds |
| ,tldr | Sums up text, or the message you reply to, in a few bullet points | 30 seconds |
| ,explain | Explains a topic, or the message you reply to, in simple words | 30 seconds |
| ,detect | Guesses how likely text, or the message you reply to, was written by AI | 30 seconds |
,ask what's the tallest mountain in Europe? ,tldr (as a reply to a long message) ,explain black holes ,detect (as a reply to an essay)
,ask also works as the /ask slash command. Aliases: ,ai, ,llm, ,chatgpt, ,claude and ,deepseek for ask; ,summarize and ,sum for tldr; ,eli5 for explain; ,aidetect for detect. Anyone can use them. There's nothing to set up.
What ,ask can look up
,ask looks things up instead of guessing, and picks what it needs by itself. Ask ,ask what's the weather in Oslo and what's bitcoin at? and it checks both. The answer's footer says what it used.
| It can | Follows |
|---|---|
| Find the bot's real commands, so it never makes one up | everyone |
| Do exact maths | everyone |
| Convert money between currencies at today's rate (USD, AUD, EUR…) | ,currency |
| Read this server's info, a member's public info, and their profile | ,serverinfo, ,userinfo, ,profile |
| Read this server's activity (messages, joins, top channels) | ,stats |
| Read the last 50 messages in the channel ("what did I miss?") | ,tldr |

| Crypto prices and translations | ,crypto, ,translate |
| A member's local time and what they're listening to | ,timezone, ,nowplaying |
| Search the web and read a link | |
| Set and list reminders, for you only | ,remind |
- Each one follows its command: if you couldn't run the command here,
,askcan't use it either. To turn one off, disable its command (,disablecommand all weatheralso stops, askchecking the weather;,disablecommand all tldrstops it reading the chat). - It only reads channels you can read, and never sees private channels you can't.
- It never moderates, changes settings or does anything for other members.
Memory
,askremembers your last 10 messages with it (your questions and its answers) in each server, so you can ask follow-ups.- Messages are forgotten after 24 hours.
,ask forgetforgets them straight away. - The other commands remember nothing.
Daily limits
| Limit | Requests a day |
|---|---|
| Each member, in each server | 50 |
| Each server, everyone together | 1000 |
These are the standard limits; the bot's owner can raise them. The bot also has an overall daily limit. Days reset at midnight UTC, and the limit reply says when in your own time. A request counts as soon as it's sent, even if the answer fails.
Turning it off
,disablemodule all ai ,disablemodule #general ai ,disablecommand all ask
The first line turns AI off everywhere in the server, the second in one channel, and the third turns off only ,ask. These need Manage Channels.
What gets sent, and filters
- The AI provider (DeepSeek) gets the text, plus the date, the server's name and its prefix so answers fit. Never your name or who you are.
- Answers go through this server's filters before they're posted. An answer a filter would delete isn't posted.
- Answers never ping anyone.
,detect is a guess, not proof.Common problems
| Reply | Why |
|---|---|
| AI isn't set up on this bot yet | The bot has no AI key right now |
| You've used your 50 AI requests for today | Your daily limit; the reply says when you can ask again |
| This server has used its 1000 AI requests for today | The server's daily limit, shared by everyone |
| I can't post that answer here | The answer broke one of this server's filters |
| Give me some text, or reply to a message with some | tldr, explain and detect need text or a reply |
